NIGHT DRIVE

Night Drive is a painting series by Luka Širok exploring nocturnal landscapes and the psychological space of night travel. The works emerge from moments of searching and looking into emptiness, where the road becomes a field for fragmented memories and drifting narratives.

The series draws inspiration from cinematic atmospheres such as Mulholland Drive and No Country for Old Men, where darkness, distance and silence shape the perception of space. Lines of light, passing reflections and blurred movements resemble images captured through a body camera or a mobile phone, transforming fleeting night observations into layered painterly compositions.

The works were presented as part of the group exhibition Fritto Misto at the Prešeren House Gallery of the Gorenjski Museum in Kranj
