Born in 1982 in Šempeter pri Novi Gorici, Slovenia, Luka Širok is a contemporary painter and visual artist working between Slovenia and Italy. His artistic practice is centered on painting while also extending into drawing, collage, installation, and hybrid visual forms.

Širok’s contemporary paintings explore perception, fragmentation of visual culture, and the transformation of images through layered painterly processes. His work often combines abstract and figurative elements, creating compositions that shift between atmosphere, memory, and visual reconstruction. While painting forms the core of his practice, he frequently expands his visual language through experimental techniques and cross-media approaches.

His works have been presented in exhibitions across Slovenia and internationally, and his paintings form the central body of his artistic practice. Through a sustained engagement with painting, Širok has developed a distinctive visual language that moves between representation and abstraction while reflecting on the conditions of contemporary visual experience.
